DIRECTIONS:
I-95 to exit 133
(Fairfield/Skowhegan Route 201)
Take Route 201 North;
You are now 38 miles from the farm.
Continue North on Rt. 201 into Skowhegan. When you cross the Kennebec
River on the Twin Bridges (Margaret Chase Smith Bridge) be prepared to
get into the left lane as you come to the one way rotary. Once in the
left lane, you will be making your first left & immediately get into
the right lane. In one block, Route 201 turns right.
Continue on Route 201 through Skowhegan. You will then go through
Madison (Somerset County Chrysler/Dodge will be on the right) and
eventually into Solon.
After leaving Solon, the next town (about 9 miles) will be Bingham.
As you
come into Bingham, you will see R & B’s Home Source on your right and
a Grass air strip and North Country Rafting on your left.
Continue past the cemetery on your left & watch for a sign for Rt 16
West towards N. Anson & Kingfield.
Take the left hand turn onto Rt 16 West & cross the Bingham Bridge.
(You will see the Bingham Health Center and Upper Kennebec Ambulance
on your right just before the left hand turn onto Rt. 16).
If you come to Jimmy’s Market on the left and the school on the
right, you missed the turn.
At
the end of the bridge, you will come to a T. Rt. 16 will go left &
you will turn right onto Ridge Rd.
You will continue up the ridge going through several S curves. Be
sure to stay well on your side of the road as logging trucks also use
this road.
In
about 4 miles from the bridge, you will see Pine Grove Lodge on the
right.
A
short distance after the Lodge, at the flag poles, the road will split
into a Y. Stay to the left onto the Rowe Pond Rd.
Continue past a house and a trailer and you will come to a barn on the
left.
Immediately after the barn is a road to the left (Little Houston Brook
Rd)
Turn left onto Little Houston Brook Rd, come down about ¼ mile to the
farm on the left.
Use caution as log trucks also use this road.
